Kassian let his voice drop, his words low and rough.

"Liadov let me come find you and tell you beforehand, so when they call you forward and tell you he's dead, you don't say shit like that."

His body was rigid, pressed against Isaev like unyielding iron, unwilling to concede the space between them.
